Terms of Service
These are the rules for using Outft, from Outft LLC (Colorado, USA). By making an account or using the app you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you're under 18, a parent or legal guardian must agree for you.
Who can use Outft
- Under 13: a parent or legal guardian makes the account and agrees for the child. Kids can't sign themselves up.
- 13 to 17: you can make your own account with a parent or legal guardian's agreement.
- 18 and over: you can make your own account. An adult outside a kid's family can't add that kid without a Honcho's approval.
The app is for use in the United States for now. You must give us the right age group, and you can't make an account for someone else unless you're their parent or legal guardian.
Your account
Keep your sign-in safe, and tell us if someone else gets into your account. You're responsible for what happens under it. You can remove a device or delete your account at any time.
How to treat people
Outft is built so people only see each other when they choose to. Use it to stay in touch with people who know you use it. Don't:
- track, follow or look for someone who hasn't agreed to share with you, or pressure someone to share
- pretend to be someone else, or make an account to get around a block or a Honcho's rule
- bully, threaten or harass anyone, or share anything sexual, hateful or illegal
- share another person's photos, name or place without their OK
- try to break in, overload or copy the service, or look at anyone's data you shouldn't
If you see something wrong, report it in the app. A report hides the content from you at once, and we may hide it from others while we look. You can block anyone, quietly and instantly.
Parents and legal guardians
A Honcho can use the family controls to see what the settings let them see about a kid in their family, and to set the limits the app offers. Honchos can't read a kid's chats. The kid is always shown what their Honchos can see. Use the controls to look after your kid, not to spy on anyone else.
Not an emergency service
Outft can send arrival alerts, SOS messages, Sudden Stop alerts and a kid's phone status. They depend on the phone, its battery, its signal and its settings, so they can be late or fail, and Outft can't promise they will arrive. If someone is in danger, call 911 or your local emergency number.
Your content
Your photos, words and pokes are yours. You let us store and pass along the scrambled version so the people you picked can see it. We can't read it. You promise you have the right to share what you share.
Subscriptions
Outft's basics are free. Families who want more can subscribe. A subscription is bought and billed by Apple or Google, renews until you cancel, and is managed and cancelled in your Apple or Google account settings. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their rules. We'll tell you the price and what's included before you buy.
Ending things
You can stop using Outft and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these rules or puts someone at risk, and we may freeze an account while we look into a report.
What we promise, and what we don't
We work hard to keep Outft safe and working, and to keep the promises in our Privacy Policy. We provide the service "as is", and we can't guarantee it will always work or be error-free. To the extent the law allows, Outft LLC isn't responsible for indirect or unforeseen losses, and our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it. Some places don't allow these limits, and then they don't apply to you.
Changes and the law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app and here before it takes effect, and ask for a parent or legal guardian's agreement again where the law needs it. These terms are governed by the laws of Colorado, USA, apart from rules that would send a question to another place's law.
