Private location sharing

Family location sharing where even we can't see where you are

A location app knows more about your family than almost any other app on your phone. So we built Outft so that even we can't see where you are, and nothing about you is ever sold or shared.

How it works

What we never do

Controls you have

Who can see me

One screen lists everyone who can see your location and exactly what each of them sees, and lets you change it.

Approximate by default

Buds see nothing until you choose to share with them, and then only your neighborhood unless you choose to show more.

Ghost mode

Take a break from your Buds whenever you like. A kid's Honchos can still see them, and the app always says so.

Lock it

Turn on a Face ID lock, so nobody who picks up your phone can change who sees you.

Why this matters for a location app

Where you go says a lot: home, school, work, the doctor, the people you see. Family location data has been sold before. In 2021, The Markup reported that Life360 was selling precise location data from its users to about a dozen data brokers.1 In 2022 Life360 said it would stop selling precise location to most of them, while keeping a deal with Allstate's Arity.2 In 2025 the Texas Attorney General sued Allstate and Arity, alleging they collected driving data through software in apps including Life360; Allstate denies it.3

Outft can't sell your location, because we can't read it. More Life360 complaints, and how Outft handles them

How we make money

Family subscriptions, never ads. Outft is free to download, safety basics are free for every family, and kids are always free. Family Premium adds more for Honchos.

Saddle up your family

Outft is coming soon to iPhone and Android, both on the same day. Free to download. The basic safety features cost families nothing, and kids never pay.
